Bitcoin mining money just funded a trip to space’s unexplored regions. Crypto mogul Chun Wang’s SpaceX “Fram2” mission launched from Cape Canaveral on April 1st, aiming for a polar orbit.
Chun Wang, the man behind Bitcoin mining pool F2Pool, isn’t your typical astronaut. Born in China, this Maltese entrepreneur bankrolled and is personally leading SpaceX’s “Fram2” mission.
Dubbed “Fram2”—a nod to a 19th-century Norwegian Arctic exploration vessel—the mission is slated to last three to five days.
The quartet blasted off from Cape Canaveral, Florida, at 1:46 am UTC on April 1st.
This flight marks the first-ever human mission to orbit Earth via the poles — a trajectory previously uncharted by manned spacecraft.
